Drug, Warrant Arrests Made On Route 9 Near Sloop Creek Road

Berkeley police recently arrested a Barnegat man they encountered on Route 9 and Sloop Creek Road and charged him with possession of heroin, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolmen Michael Tier and John Mulvihill stopped to question two "suspicious" males at 6 p.m. on April 1, the chief said.

Both Justin Pomasan, 22,  Barnegat, and Bryan Boutillett, 25, Ocean Gate each had several outstanding warrants, DiMichele said.

Further investigation revealed that Pomasan was in possession of a quantity of suspect heroin as well as drug paraphernalia.  He was charged with drug offenses and taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail, the chief said.

Boutillette was released after being processed on the authority of the warrant issuing agencies, she said.
