Crash Closes Route 9 for an Hour

Reports are of one patient taken to Jersey Shore via ambulance

The parking lot at Little John's Deli became a two-way thoroughfare for about an hour on Thursday night after an accident on Route 9 at Bay Boulevard resulted in the closure of Route 9 in both directions.

Police scanner reports indicated one patient was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center's trauma unit in Neptune.

A medevac helicopter was called in and landed next to ShopRite. It is unknown whether any patients were taken to the helicopter for transport.
