County Narcotics Investigation Nets Heroin, Pills and Cash

Two men and a woman arrested after search warrants executed

A narcotics investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has resulted in the arrest of two men and one woman, and the seizure of heroin, pills and cash, according to Marlene Lynch Ford, Ocean County Prosecutor.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, the Toms River Police Department and the Berkeley Township Police Department obtained and executed search warrants today for residences located in Toms River and Berkeley Township.

The residences were being used by Rashad Searles, 33, of Toms River, for drug distribution activities, according to Ford.

Search warrants were executed at 1922 Red Cedar Street, Toms River, and 401 1st Avenue, Berkeley Township.

Police also executed a search warrant on a 1999 Acura Legend that was being used in the drug distribution operation.

As a result of the search warrants, police seized approximately 2600 bags of heroin, along with 25 Oxycodone pills and approximately $13,537 in cash.

Searles, 1922 Red Cedar Street, Toms River, was charged with possession of heroin over one half ounce with intent to distribute and possession of heroin. Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski set bail at $150,000 cash.

Kevin Davis, 27, 1922 Red Cedar Street, Toms River, was charged with possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Oxycodone) with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Oxycodone). Superior Court Judge Gizinsk set bail at $40,000 cash.

Valerie Reavis, 32, 1922 Red Cedar Street, Toms River, was charged with possession of heroin and released on a summons.

Assisting in the investigation, as well as the execution of the search warrants, were members of the Toms River Police ESU Team, the Toms River Police K-9 Unit, the Berkeley Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriffs Department K-9 Unit.

Criminal charges are merely accusations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

No additional charges like being 1,000 feet from a school?. Heck they were 50 feet from Toms River High School East.
