Brick Man Charged With Killing Stepfather, 93

Brick police arrest Albert Dressler, 67, at his home

A Brick man has been charged in the death of his 93-year-old stepfather who lived in the Lion's Head North retirement community in Lakewood, off Shorrock Street.

The body of Victor DiDonato, 93, was found by police at 2:31 p.m. Sunday in the kitchen of the home where he lived, according to Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Didonato had suffered multiple stab wounds, Mohel confirmed.

Albert A. Dressler, 67, DiDonato's stepson, reportedly fled the Petty Place, Lakewood, home of his stepfather in a Buick Lacrosse sedan. He was taken into custody at 2:48 p.m. by Brick Police at his home at 168 Lions Head Boulevard South, and taken to Lakewood police headquarters where he was charged, Mohel said.

"He left [DiDonato's] residence, and went to his own residence," Mohel said. "He was taken into custody there."
