Berkeley Police Investigating Robbery, Arrest Man For Outstanding Warrant

Berkeley Township police are investigating a Dec. 7 robbery at the Berkeley Garden Apartments on 41 Frederick Drive in Bayville, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele.

Police responded to the location at 3:29 p.m., on a report of a robbery.

"In this case, the victim had items forcibly taken from them by a person they know," the chief said.

Police encountered a man named Donald Morgan during the robbery investigation. Morgan provided a false name of officers. They later determined that Morgan had a $2,500 out of Hillsborough Township, DiMichele said.

Morgan was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with hindering his own apprehension and turned over to Hillsborough police, she said.

The robbery is still under investigation.  Patrolmen Michael O’Connor, Jason Malley, Daniel Williams, Ronald Bondulich, Brian Bargas, Sgt. Peter La Rocca and Det. John Legg all assisted, DiMichele said.
