Berkeley Police Arrest Two From South Jersey On Outstanding Warrants

by Patricia A. Miller

A routine traffic stop on Route 9 near Korman Road recently led to the arrests of two South Jersey residents, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman John Mulvihill determined after speaking to William Tilghman, 31, Atlantic City and Julie Patterson, 24, Absecon, both had outstanding warrants, the chief said.

Both were able to post bail and were released. Patrolmen Taylor Butler and Michael Tier assisted, the chief said.

It would only be fair to report WHAT the warrant was for, instead of letting people assume the worst. A warrant can be for anything as simple as an unpaid parking ticket, to something as serious as skipping out on a criminal court hearing (and you're the 'criminal'). The fact they both posted bail and were released, seems to imply it wasn't very serious. If the police can't be bothered telling us what kind of warrant, then there's no point in reporting on this kind of thing...
