Berkeley Man Charged In Connection With String Of Holiday City Burglaries

A 34-year-old Berkeley man was charged this past week in connection with several home burglaries in Holiday City Berkeley Township, police said.

On Tuesday, Robert Muchanic of Cabrillo Drive was arrested after the victims reported numerous items - including money and jewelry - were stolen from their homes, police said.

These burglaries occurred over the course of several months exclusively in the senior community.

As a result of this investigation Berkeley Detectives Scott Stoker and Joseph Santoro charged Muchanic with four counts of burglary. In addition, Muchanic was also charged with being a certain person not to possess firearms in connection with these burglaries.

Muchanic was lodged in the Ocean County Jail with bail set by Judge James Gluck at $75,000 full.  More charges are pending as this investigation continues.
