Berkeley Man Charged At Manahawkin Traffic Stop With Steroids, Pot Possession

A 23-year-old Berkeley man was charged in Manahawkin this past week for allegedly possessing marijuana and steroids, police said.

According to Stafford police:

On Thursday, March 13, at approximately 12:51 a.m., the Stafford Township Police Department performed a motor vehicle stop on a Kia Soul in the Ocean Acres section of town.

Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Evan R. Beattie of Bayville, was arrested for possession of Marijuana and Steroids. Beattie was subsequently transported to the Stafford Township police department where he was processed and later released pending a future court date.

Additionally, a passenger in the vehicle, Kemburry Pierre, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant out of Asbury Park. Mr. Pierre was also transported to the Stafford Township Police Department where he was processed and later released after posting bail in full. Officers Samaritano, Conner, and Kunder were the investigating officers.
