Berkeley Burglary Suspect Arrested On Drug Charges, Outstanding Warrant

Berkeley Township police recently charged a Bayville man with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and hypodermic needles after they served a burglary warrant on him, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Sgt. Michael Roth went to the Berkeley Plaza at 10:50 p.m. on June 13 to serve the outstanding warrant on Edward Oday, 42, the chief said.

Oday was identified and spotted in the plaza. Roth - with DiMichele's assistance - was located and arrested without incident. It was later discovered that Oday was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspected marijuana and the syringes, DiMichele said.

Oday was transported to police headquarters, processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail, the chief said.
