Berkeley Township police recently arrested a Beachwood man after encountering a suspicious person on Route 9 near the intersection of J.F.K Boulevard, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Patrolmen Patrick Stesner and D.J. Williams responded at 7:30 p.m. on March 19. They discovered that Daniel Kerch, 20, Beachwood, was in possession of a non-firearm prohibited weapon. He was taken to headquarters, where more investigation revealed that due to previous convictions, Kerch was prohibited from possessing any type of weapon, the chief said.
Kercher was processed at police headquarters and released on a summonses, DiMichele said.
