Beachwood Man Arrested In Berkeley For Allegedly Having 'Non-Firearm' Weapon

A 20-year-old Beachwood man was arrested this past week for possessing a "non-firearm prohibited weapon," police said.

According to Berkeley police:

On March 19th 2014 at 7:30 PM, Ptl. Patrick Stesner encountered a suspicious person on Rt. 9 near the intersection of JFK Blvd. Further investigation revealed that the male identified as a Daniel Kerch 20 of Beachwood, was in possession of a non-firearm prohibited weapon.

As a result, Kerch was arrested and taken to police H.Q. for processing. While at H.Q. it was learned that Kerch due to previous convictions, was prohibited from being in possession of any weapon and was charged accordingly. Kercher was released on a summons. Ptl. D.J. Williams assisted in this arrest.
