Beachwood Man Allegedly Drives Onto Berkeley Lawn, Crashes Into Tree

A 23-year-old Beachwood man faces charges in Berkeley for allegedly driving a vehicle onto a front lawn and crashing into a tree, police said.

According to police:

On Feb. 14. at 9 a.m., Ptl. William Somers, Ptl. Michael Connel and Ptl. John Houghkirk responded to Grand Central Parkway for a report of a hit and run in which a vehicle drove on to the lawn of a residence and crashed into a tree.  The vehicle then left the scene.

A short time later the Beachwood Police Department advised that they had a vehicle stopped which had damage consistent with this crash.  As a result the driver, Ryan Gouse, 23, of Beachwood was charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.

I wonder what Ryan's problem was? No mention of impairment, so is he mentally challenged?

Another drunk druggie? SURPRISE

No DUI charge. How can you be so quick to come to a judgement about him being drunk or a "druggie"? I don't know the kid, but with no charge of being under the influence of anything, I would Moir likely say texting. Maybe the kid panicked and since it was only his car and a tree involved, he decided to take off. And not to mention there are people who work over night shifts. My wife works over nights and I worry about her driving home sometimes when I know she's tired. People just need to keep their mouth shut if they don't have anything good to contribute. I'm sure none of these people that make these troll comments have NEVER done anything stupid when they were young. At least no-one got hurt.

Calm down Matt, there was a post here yesterday that he had hit a patch of black ice, but I see it's been removed. You're right about rushing to judge, it's just that stories like this need an explanation.

None of the above.

Matt, dont get your panties in a bunch. We did plenty of stupid stuff as kids. We were just better at it. Read what goes on. See what these idiots do today. Its that easy to jump to what seems to be "the norm". And good parenting not to tell your kids stay with your car. Just because you wussed out and ran, the cops may still know who owns it. And you can eat my troll comments.
