Bayville Woman Charged With Drunk Driving After Motor Vehicle Stop

A Bayville woman is facing drunk driving charges after a township police officer stopped her on Route 9 near Sloop Creek Road for driving on a tire rim, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Jonathan Sperber stopped Terri Carrington, 35, at 7:50 p.m. on April 2 on Bayview Avenue, after he saw sparks flying on the roadway from the tire rim, the chief said.

Further investigation revealed that Carrington was operating the car while under the influence. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where she was also charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license, DiMichele said.

Carrington was later released in accordance with John’s Law, he said.
