Bayville Woman Charged With Multiple Car Burglaries Over Several Days

Car thefts occurred between June 20 and June 23

Police recently arrested a Bayville woman and charged her with burglarizing a number of cars between June 20 and June 23, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Dawn Laganese, 45, Staysail Court, was transferred to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River after her arrest on June 23. Police had been looking for her since June 20, when Patrolman Jonathan Sperber and Sgt. Peter La Rocca responded to Mystic Court on a report of multiple car burglaries, the chief said.

Laganese was observed and described by a number of individuals, who had verbal contact with her. Further investigation revealed Laganese's identity, which led to the recovery of the stolen items. An arrest warrant was issued for two counts of burglary, DiMichele said.

Laganese was not located until June 23, when Patrolmen Michael Riccardelli and Rodney Flanagan responded to a report of a motor vehicle burglary at 333 Route 9. The victim gave a description of a suspect and a list of stolen items.

Further investigation revealed that Laganese was in the area and the stolen items were recovered, DiMichele said.
