A Bayville man injured in a one-car crash recently on Veterans Boulevard was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center recently.

Patrolman Rodney Flanegan responded to the 400 block of the roadway on Jan. 19 and found that Steven Segal, 22, had struck a curb, then kept going until his car came to rest in a wooded lot, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Segal was charged with reckless driving, driving while on a cell phone and driving while suspended.  Members of the Bayville First Aid and the Bayville Fire Company responded to assist, the chief said.
