Bayville Man Charged With Drunk Driving, Leaving The Scene Of An Accident
Incident took place on Sylvan Lakes Boulevard
Police have charged a Mallard Road man with drunk driving after he struck a utility pole on Sylvan Lakes Boulevard and fled the scene, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith said.
Patrolman Jerry Bacon responded to a report of a hit-and-run at 11:14 p.m. on Sept. 26 and subsequently arrested Joseph A. Timpanaro, 49, Bayville, at the Wawa store on Route 9 South, he said.
"Several witnesses identified him as driving a white Chevy Astro van," Smith said.

Timpanaro hit a utility pole at 17 Sylvan Lakes Boulevard.
"He was found to be under the influence," Smith said. "He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest."

Timpanaro was also charged with reckless driving, driving on the revoked list and leaving the scene of an accident, Smith said.
