Lacey Police Charge Bayville Man in Assault that Began at Lacey Park

Lawrence Young allegedly robbed and assaulted a juvenile male

A Bayville man was arrested after he allegedly robbed and assaulted a juvenile at a Lacey park, Lacey police said.

Lawrence Young, 18, was arrested after police responded to an assault at the intersection of Beverly Road and Earie Way at 3:57 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1.

Police determined that a “strong-arm” robbery, which began at Bud Mezara Park, occurred, police said.

During the robbery, a 16-year-old male victim sustained a facial injury, police said. He was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment.

Young was charged with second degree robbery and aggravated assault. He was sent to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. His bail was set at $150,000, police said.
