Bayville Man Charged After Giving Fake I.D., Driving While Suspended

by Patricia A. Miller

Berkeley police recently charged a Bayville man with hindering his own arrest and driving with a suspended license, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Jonathan Mulvihill conducted a motor vehicle stop on Nov. 6, in the area of 247 Route 9. The driver, later identified as Richard Lenkiewicz, 30, Bayville, gave the officer a fake name and false date of birth, the chief said.

Police determined that Lenkiewicz was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license and also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, DiMichele said.

Lenkiewicz was arrested and charged with hindering his own apprehension by providing false information and driving while suspended, the chief said.
