UPDATE: Woman Injured In One-Car Crash In Holiday Heights

A unidentified woman was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River this afternoon after her car struck a tree and brush on Davenport Road, Sgt. Brian Woermer said.

The accident occurred at 2:55 pm. in the area of Davenport Road and Narbeth Way in the Holiday Heights section of the township.

Emergency service personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene and were able to resuscitate the woman, before she was transferred to the hospital, Woermer said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Traffic Safety Officer Clark Baranyay, he said.

"Witnesses said it just veered off the roadway," Woermer said.

Davenport Road is not closed, but expect delays while the car is being towed.
