The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time
Three people were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River after a crash on the Garden State Parkway about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday that appeared to involve three vehicles.
Reports on the accident say only that three people were injured; the extent of their injuries and further details on the crash were not immediately available.
At the crash scene, just south of the Parkway entrance at milemarker 77 in Berkeley, several emergency vehicles and at least two flatbed trucks were in the process of removing debris from the scene.

One flatbed held an SUV that appeared to be a Jeep; a second SUV and a four-door passenger car were at odd angles against the guardrail on the median side of the Parkway. Drivers were sticking to the right lane and avoiding the center and left lanes past the site. At least a dozen emergency personnel were still at the scene at 2 a.m., and rain had begun to fall while they worked to clean things up.
The Bayville and South Toms River first aid squads responded to transport the injured.
