Flood premium relief by 2015

Although we succeeded in delaying exorbitant annual increases in flood insurance premiums, you won't see relief for a year or more. 

The president signed the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act into law last month, thanks to the efforts of Ocean County-based StopFemaNow.com and allied groups in many other states.

I received a call from the Washington office of US Sen. Menendez (NJ) confirming that new flood policy rates might not be implemented by insurance companies for 16 months... but he has urged FEMA to expedite the process in a shorter time.

In the meantime, pay your premiums, and you should get a refund for any overpayments to be determined later.
