Spalliero, of Bayville, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014, at home,
surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.
Mario was born on
March 8, 1945, in Maddaloni, Italy and grew up in Newark. In 1966, he
relocated to Hazlet and together with his family, owned and operated the
"Roman Inn", now "Yesterday's" and most recently, "Yesterday's" in
Bayville. Mario was a successful restaurateur and business man. He was a
true family man, who cherished his loved ones and placed family above
Mario is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and
Josephine Pascarella Spalliero; his beloved brother, Anthony Spalliero;
and his dear nephews, Joseph and Domenic Spalliero.
Mario is survived by
his beloved and devoted wife, Maria Spalliero; his loving children,
Frank Spalliero and his wife Angie of Bayville, and Silvia Shoiab and
her husband Ali of Bayville, along with his dear brother, sisters, and
sister-in-law, Vincent Spalliero and his wife Marie of Oceanport, Maria
Nanna and her husband Louis of Aberdeen, Angela Aviles and her husband
John of Union Beach, and Domenica Spalliero of Holmdel.
Mario is also
survived by his loving grandchildren, Rosa Spalliero, Zachary Shoiab,
Joseph Spalliero, Sami Shoiab, Anthony Spalliero and Andrew Spalliero,
along with his many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He will be sadly
missed but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to
visit from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22 and from 8:30 p.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Friday morning, May 23, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet. A Funeral Liturgy in
celebration of Mario's life will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday morning,
May 23 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville.
Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove
