Debra Thompson, Co-Owner Of Whitey's Landing In Bayville, Dies At 74

Debra Thompson,74, of the Bayville section of Berkeley Township died on Thursday March 27, 2014 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

She was born in Michigan. She lived in the Pleasant Plains section of Toms River before moving to Bayville in 1980. Along with her husband Larry she owned and operated Whitey's Landing in Bayville for 50 years.

She was predeceased by her sister Laurel and her daughter Susan Ketcham. Surviving is her husband Christian "Larry" Thompson, her son Scott of San Diego, California, three daughters Tobi Thompson of Barnegat, NJ, Lori Anne Thompson of South Toms River, NJ, and Kelly Ketcham of Bayville, NJ, her step- father William Louie Haver of Florida, three brothers Bill Haver of Michigan, Ronnie Haver of Oregon, and Lowell Haver of Florida and four grandchildren; Robert and Laura Ketcham, Kayla and Bobby Wojtaszek and also one great grandchild.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O'Connell Chapel, 706 Route 9, Bayville, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will follow to Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
