LETTER: Berkeley Mayor's Definition Of Superstorm Sandy Impact

Has it helped?

Berkeley Major Carmen Amato wrote a letter earlier this year demonstrating the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

The letter was intended to facilitate the claims process. Amato provided the letter for homeowners who are having problems with their Homeowners Insurance Company regarding wind damage.

Has it helped? Let us know in the comments.

To whom it may concern:

Please accept this letter as written confirmation of the damage caused by Super Storm Sandy to properties within the Township of Berkeley. The Township, through its employees and officials, has confirmed that there was damage caused to many properties due to wind, prior to the damage caused by flooding. They personally saw many instances where roofs and siding were being blown off homes due to the powerful winds, well before the storm surge was present on the streets. We respectfully urge you to consider the storm damage caused by wind prior to the flooding event when review insureds' claims.

Should you require any additional information or anything further, please do not hesitate to contact the township.

Very truly yours,

Carmen F. Amato Jr.
Mayor of Berkeley Township
