One-eyed German Shepherd Mix Needs A Loving Home

The one-year-old dog needs a home with no cats.

Blackie needs a home.

The 1-year-old German shepherd mix was recently turned into the Associated Humane Societies Popcorn Park Zoo after his owner could no longer take care of him.

Here's his description from the organization's Facebook page:

"Blackie is missing one eye and we were not told how that happened, but he gets along perfectly fine without it.

Blackie is incredibly friendly, outgoing and loveable. He makes friends so easily and will stand on his hind legs within minutes of meeting you to give you a gentle hug.

Blackie is very puppyish and sweet, and he just loves to run and play in our exercise yard. He was overjoyed to toss some toys around and play a game of fetch, and he would really love a good home with a nice yard to romp around in.
Blackie is well behaved and walks nicely on a leash.

When he is inside, he is very respectful of his surroundings and is happy to just rest his head on your lap. Blackie seems a little unsure of other dogs, so it's best to bring yours in to meet and see how it goes. He would prefer a home with no cats.

This young boy is hoping for a chance to start over with a family that will love and care for him always. Please make his dreams come true. File#23374"
