Throwback from the Jersey Shore: Island Beach State Park Edition

Island Beach State Park reopened this week, so to honor that event, we present you a photo of the park in the 1940s.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.

I had a great response to my "Throwback" columns in recent weeks, so this week, in honor of the fact that Island Beach State Park has officially reopened, I am posting a photo of from a reader of a beautiful woman, whom the reader identified as his grandmother, out on Island Beach State Park in the late 1940s.

Do you have photos you'd like to share?  Please send them, and a little information about the image to Colleen.platt@patch.com.

Dig out those shoeboxes of old photos that are hanging around in your closet, and either scan and email them to me, or just snap a photo of the picture with your camera phone and email that image, with a short description. As long as you have the flash off, you can get a pretty good reproduction of the photo to send along via email.

I am hoping to make "throwback" column a regular feature on Patch so please write in!
