A female surfer in distress was rescued on Saturday night in the waters off 21st Avenue in South Seaside Park, a Berkeley police dispatcher said.

Police responded to the scene at 8:57 p.m., but the surfer had already been pulled from the water, police said.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was uninjured, the dispatcher said.
