Ocean Breaches Dunes; 97 MPH Gusts, Roads Under Water In Berkeley
No reported injuries, but trees and live wires are down throughout Bayville and South Seaside Park
Roads are under water and the ocean is breaching the dunes in South Seaside Park as Berkeley Township has been dealing with Hurricane Sandy's 97 mph gusts, officials said.
"We have no reported injuries and we'll do everything in our power to keep it that way," said Mayor Carmen Amato.
Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said Bayview Avenue is flooded and a section of Good Luck Point is completely under water.

Bayview Avenue to Butler Boulevard is completely impassible, she said.
The ocean has breached the dunes in South Seaside Park and "the last time we checked the wind gusts are 97 mph," she said.

Residents are urged to stay away from downed wires and live wires, said Detective Sgt. James J. Smith.
"Let JCP&L and our personnel handle it so nobody gets hurt," he said.
