New Jersey, start your musical engines.

The state is looking to its residents for a new Jersey Shore summer anthem to highlight recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy. The contest begins Monday.

A current campaign use the catchy "Stronger Than the Storm" song. The song was written by a NJ-based marketing business, Brushfire Marketing, and composed by songwriter Brian Jones of New York City, according to USA Today.

The new contest is labeled the Jersey Shore Soundoff, and New Jerseyans have the chance to open a concert in September for "New Jersey's most talented acts at the Stronger than the Storm Soundoff."

Residents can submit their songs online and vote for their favorite songs. All entries must be created by a New Jersey resident but out-of-state votes are allowed, according to the rules.

Songs must be between one and four minutes long and the winner will be announced on Sept. 4. A celebrity judges panel comprises 60 percent of the vote, while fans make up 40 percent.

So get to composing, New Jersey. The first round of voting ends Aug. 11.
