Urban Planner Joins Board of Courage to Connect New Jersey

Donovan Hall, a landscape architect and urban planner, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Courage to Connect New Jersey (CtoCNJ), a non-profit, non-partisan organization that assists citizens and local government through the consolidation process.

As a Landscape Specialist at Matrix New World Engineering, Inc., Hall works on a number of public and private land development projects in the New York-New Jersey area. Responsible for all strategic steps in the design and development process, Hall will be a great asset to CtoCNJ’s overarching goal of community efficiency and consolidation, said Gina Genovese, executive director, CtoCNJ.

Hall graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Sustainable Environments.

During his time there, he participated in a variety of organizations including the Pasadena Rose Float and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

“After going to college in California and experiencing the capabilities of a small city of about 50,000 residents, I developed a strong interest in municipal consolidation,” Hall said.

Hall said his skills and experience with site development and urban planning will be beneficial to the long-term organization CtoCNJ strives for.

When Hall returned to New Jersey to pursue his professional career in landscape architecture, he realized the full potential of consolidating municipalities within the state.

Donovan is currently an active member of ASLA and the Hightstown-East Windsor Lions Club, as well as a native of New Jersey; his family owns Hall's Garden Center in Berkeley Heights.

“I’m proud to be involved with CtoCNJ,” Hall said. “I am determined to help make New Jersey a more efficient and prosperous place for my fellow residents.”
