Cancelled: Classic Car Cruise Will Not Be Held Tonight

The show was set for Point Beach tonight; next car show planned for Oct. 7

has been cancelled due to predictions of rain, according to the Point Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The next car show, featuring antique cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 7, with a rain date of Oct. 14.

When the next one is held, the downtown sections of Arnold and Bay avenues will be closed to through traffic. Ed Austin, DJ Tommy Lynch and the Dance Theatre Project Dancers will provide live entertainment, according to the chamber website.

The car shows are sponsored by DeFelice of Point Pleasant Auto Center on Route 88 in Point Borough; All Points Printing and Graphics, Arnold Avenue, Point Borough; Ralph’s Italian Ices, Point Beach, and Auto Trader.

In other chamber news, many stores in downtown Point Beach, primarily on Arnold and Bay avenues, will be open until 8 p.m. Friday.
