Like Great Music? Don't Miss James Maddock at the Barron Arts Center

The singer and songwriter is due to delight in a Thursday concert, part of the Music on Main series.

Ever wonder where all the good songs went? If you want to hear some new songs that fill the bill, you should give a listen to James Maddock. His songs and voice are new and interesting, but they also harken back to a day when music told stories and singers could actually sing without being mechanically manipulated.

His latest song, "My Old Neighborhood," can be purchased on iTunes, and it's a definite "don't miss" if you like good music. Maddock is, in a word, incredible.

British-born Maddock will be playing at the Barron Arts Center Thursday, October 25, at 7:30 pm as part of the Music on Main series.

Maddock was first recognized in the U.S as leader of the band Wood. They created Songs From Stamford Hill, which remains a fan favorite 10 years later and produced a Top 5 Triple A hit (Stay You) that was included in the first Dawson's Creek compilation. In 2009, Maddock released the exquisite collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, for which he won the 2010-11 NY Music Award for Best Americana Album. Maddock followed Sunrise in 2011 with Wake Up and Dream. NYC’s WFUV 2011 Listener's Poll named Wake Up and Dream (#13) as one of the top albums of 2011. The Mike Scott (Waterboys) co-written single "Beautiful Now" was named the #9 Song of the Year in the same poll.

Tickets to his Woodbridge concert are priced at $22 and can be bought online. For more information, call 732-596-4048.
