Forget Hurricane Irene and Focus on the Weekend

Several events slated in central Ocean County

As we ease back into a normal life where we do not have , tornadoes, or (hopefully), here are a few events that could help you adjust back to everyday life for the big Labor Day weekend.

This Saturday, the Ocean County Parking Garage will be the host of this year’s . The event will include an old-fashioned flea market combined with old cars, steam engines, art, music, historical items, and more.

It is scheduled, rain or shine, for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Ocean County Parking Garage is located at Hadley and Madison avenues in Toms River.

The Free Movies on the Beach series returns to Seaside Heights this weekend after a weekend absence because of Hurricane Irene.

On Friday, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will begin at 8:15 p.m.
"Jaws" is slated to be shown on Sunday, starting at dusk. On Sunday, Jaws will be played starting at dusk. All movie goers will be seated on the beach at the oceanfront stage on Hiering Avenue.

Be sure to also cap your weekend off by celebrating Labor Day on Monday. For most, Labor Day is the last chance to enjoy barbeques, picnics, and fireworks. It’s a good way to transition into the fall season that includes color change of leaves and, of course, football.

No matter how you spend you Labor Day Weekend, be sure to enjoy the weekend and hope all the issues are resolved.
