Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect Later Today

Clear skies could give way to rain today, National Weather Service says

Despite clear skies at dawn, showers are expected to dampen the area today, and a coastal flood advisory is in effect this evening.

A small front is moving through the area today, according to the National Weather Service, bringing with it a 50 percent chance of rain after 8 a.m.

The chance of rain continues tonight, with some showers expected before 2 a.m.

Tonight's potential showers could contribute to the coastal flood advisory that's in effect along the Jersey Shore from 5 to 10 p.m. tonight. During this evening's high tide, low-lying roadways could be covered, say forecasters.

Temperatures will remain relatively cool for the rest of this week, with a high of 71 today and an overnight low of 55 tonight.

The outlook for  Wednesday and  is good – mostly sunny with highs in the high 70s – though more storms could move through the region Thursday night.
