Become a part of the Ocean County Domestic Violence Response Team

Become a part of the Ocean County Domestic Violence Response Team and work in partnership with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, your local police department, and Providence House.

The goal of the Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) volunteer is to provide crisis intervention and emotional support to victims of domestic violence at the local police department.  Volunteers assist victims in developing safety plans and provide necessary information and referrals.

Volunteers are required to attend 40 hours of training over 9 weeks.  All prospective volunteers undergo a background check and interview process, and must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid NJ driver’s license, and available transportation.  Volunteers for the program must apply for the position before training can begin.
