The Morning Call For October 22, 2013

A major cool down is on the way for later this week, but first we have to get through a little rain before the beautiful weather returns.

Today - The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies with a high near 67 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 7 to 15 miles per hour.

Tonight - Mostly cloudy with a low near 51 degrees, with rain likely after 4 a.m. Winds will be from the northwest at 6 to 10 miles per hour.

Wednesday - There's an 80 percent chance of rain today before 3 p.m. Expect a high near 56 degrees. Winds will be from the northwest at 11 to 15 miles per hour.

Things To Do:

• Meatball sub sale, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bayville First Aid Squad building, Route 9 and Station Road, Bayville. Subs are $3.50 each. Stop by to pick them up or call Pat at 732-269-2696 or Grace 732-269-0261. Sponsored by the Bayville First Aid Squad Auxiliary.

What we are working on:

The number of Superstorm Sandy-damaged homes eligible for the Private Property Debris Removal program (PPDR) has dropped from over 400 to 23, due to FEMA changes.

Township Council gives the owner of the Beachwood Shopping Center and the designated redevelopers another 120 days to negotiate further over demolition costs.

Is the state Department of Environmental Protection keeping watch over Double Trouble State Park?
