The Morning Call for November 14, 2013


The National Weather Service is predicting an elevated risk for the spread of wildfires through today, as low humidity, gusty winds and dry woodland fuels continue.

Today - Sunny with a high near 53 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 10 to 16 miles per hour.

Tonight - Mostly cloudy with a low near 37 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 8 to 11 miles per hour

Friday - Mostly sunny with a high near 58 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 t0 9 miles per hour.

Things to Do:

• Central Regional drama club presents "Into the Woods," 6:30 p.m., Central Regional High School auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens.

•Bill McLeod's Rock and Soul, 7 p.m., Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library, 30 Station Road, Bayville. Come and listen to rock and soul greats. Please register at www.theoceancountylibrary.org or call 732-269-2144.

The Historic Double Trouble State Park Village and the cranberry bogs are slowly falling into disrepair. How will several years of no real harvest affect the cranberry bogs?
