DESCRIPTION:Transition Berkeley is delighted to present a panel of local 
 gardening all-stars who are transforming our community with their commit
 ment to empowering people to grow and share more food in the city.\nMeet
  panelists Daniel Miller of Spiral Gardens Food Security Project\; Victo
 ry Lee of Victory Garden Foundation\; Rivka Mason\, garden teacher at Ma
 lcolm X Elementary School\; Gavin Rader from Planting Justice\; and a re
 presentative from Phat Beets Produce.\nLearn about a variety of local re
 sources and ways to grow food in urban spaces\, patios\, curb strips\, r
 oof tops\, school gardens\, urban farms and shared land. How can we make
  our gardens more productive? How can we organize to share yards and sta
 rt community gardens? How can we use less water and create less waste wh
 ile we're increasing our yields? We'll answer these questions and more.\
 nAs part of the 2012 Transition Challenge\, the evening will end with a 
 give away of heirloom vegetable seeds along with herb and flower seeds c
 ourtesy of Victory Garden Foundation and concrete plans of action for pa
