Producer Robert Hawk Appearing At O.C. Library Film Festival

TOMS RIVER—Southern New Jersey native and Sundance Film Festival Selection Committee member Robert Hawk will present “IndieWorld 2012: A Reality Check” at the sixth Annual Ocean County Library Film Festival.

Hawk will discuss the state of independent film making at the Ocean County Library Toms River branch (101 Washington St.) Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m.

Having been involved in independent film making for well over 20 years, Hawk is noted for fostering the careers of several prominent people in the film industry including Kevin Smith, Ed Burns, and Nathaniel Kahn.  His own credits include producing the films “Prodigal Sons” and “Chasing Amy.”

In addition, he’s also been involved with the production of the Academy Award winning films “In the Shadow of the Stars” and “Common Thread.” A complete list of his credits can be found online at www.filmhawk.com.

The Ocean County Library Film Festival is held Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 at the Ocean County Library Toms River branch and the Traco Theater (16 Washington St., Toms River). It features submissions from both student and emerging film makers. A complete listing of show times and films being screened can be found online at www.theoceancountylibrary.org.

High School screening will be held on Friday night and Saturday will host a full
day film screenings of emerging adult artists at the newly renovated downtown Toms RiverTraco Theater.  Schedule of films to be posted by April 23rd.
