Two Flown To Area Hospital In Motor Vehicle Accident On Veterans Boulevard

Three vehicles involved in crash at corner of Eastern Boulevard

Two people were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, following a three-vehicle accident at the corner of Veterans and Eastern Boulevards Sunday night.

"It's precautionary on both," said Lieutenant James Blair, head of the police department's traffic safety division. "It doesn't appear to be anything life threatening."

Blair did not identify any of those involved in the accident due to the fact that some were 17 years old and family members of those involved had not yet been notified.

The accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m.

"It appears two cars went through the stop sign...slid through" Blair said, stressing that the accident is still under investigation.

Shattered glass was strewn throughout the intersection. There were no signs of skid marks.

Bayville First Aid and the Bayville Fire Company responded to the accident along with Lacey Township EMS, Blair said.

Berkeley Patch will update as more information becomes available.

I also live nearby and i think its a shame that these kids don't obey road signs we have enough car accidents that involve teens they should stay the hell off the road or learn how to drive.

First of all..there were no tickets given out for speeding or racing. It is a very sad and unfortunate thing that happened..and there were many injuries. It is a terrible thing all around. But what makes it even worse is when people start starting rumors and stating things that are not even proven to be the facts. In the above article nor the tickets given out indicated racing. And how perfectly stated by ..concerned..we should be praying for the recovery of the ones involved not using this as a forum to slander the ones involved, especially when the ones pointing the finger has nothing to go on but their assumption and rumors!! (which were incorrect)

If there was no tickets given for speeding or racing then there will be a quick change in that. For two cars to completely lose their motors.... that road is also a "race road" they do it all the time... and the VW had a $6,000 Turbo... oh yeah they weren't racing. Their friends ratted them out, those two boys are bragging about what they did. This accident was 100% preventable.

every comment posted gets more and more rediculous? there still to this day has not been given out tickets for speeding. Also, about bragging...that could not be more further than the truth. the injuries were so bad that the boy has not been able to even leave the house? so once again you need to get your story straight before stating comments to make sure they actually make sense. The injured boys who were involved could not have been "ratted" out for anything unless its more rumors like the unfounded comments above.

still wondering that myself, considering I live close enough to hear it... there was no way they were only going 25 and how do 2 cars run a stop sign at the same time to where they were both involved in the wreck...

Whatever happened... I'm just grateful that everyone is alive... they were all very lucky. I said a lot of prayers that night.

Lol funny.... both hit the civic... front end and back end... how does that happen if ur not riding side by side? Just curious. Also do u not know how many kids ran to the cars after the accident?... they ratted them out. Again why were they all there? Race? And no it is not over yet. And even though the boys actions put him in that bad. I still pray for him to be ok. Hopefully he learned his lesson.
