Monday - Winter Scavenger Hunt - all month, Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library, 30 Station Road, Bayville. Come in anytime and win a small prize. No registration required.

Monday - The state Department of Environmental Protection's Oyster Creek Safety Advisory Panel will meet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 119 of the Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. The panel will discuss safety and closure issues dealing with the nuclear plant on Route 9 South in Lacey Township.

Monday - "Tax Appeals, Tax Assessments and Superstorm Sandy," 7:30 p.m., Central Regional Middle School cafeteria, Forest Hills Parkway, Bayville. Sponsored by the Berkeley Township Republican Club. The public is invited.

Wednesday - Ocean County Board of Freeholders caucus meeting, 4 p.m., Room 119, Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Avenue, Toms River.

Thursday - Bingo night, sponsored by the Holiday City at Berkeley Bingo Club, Clubhouse #2, Port Royal Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.

Friday - Book discussion - 1 p.m., Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library, 30 Station Road, Bayville. "The Art of Racing in the Rain," a story about a dog with a philosophical soul who tries to bring together a family locked in a bitter custody battle.

Sunday - Live Animal Talks, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Jakes Branch County Park, Double Trouble Road, Beachwood. Come and meet some of the park's inhabitants up close. Admission is free and open to all ages.
