Owners Of Daycare Center Charged With Theft And Vandalism

Incident took place during relocation of business, police report states

Police recently charged a local couple with theft and vandalism when they moved their Bayville day care center to another location on Route 9.

Charles and Denise Wolf are accused of causing $10,000 worth of damage to the unit at 950 Route 9 where they ran Tomorrow's Future and stealing $10,000 worth of items, according to the police report.

Wood flooring was torn out, sinks taken off walls, sheetrock was damaged and electrical lines ripped out, the police report states.

The owner of the unit the couple rented from had evicted the Wolfs earlier this month. The owner went to the unit after he heard reports that the couple were threatening to damage the unit and remove items from the property, according to the police report.

Nearby tenants told police the bulk of the moving took place on Jan. 24. The co-manager for the property at 950 Route 9 accompanied police to the new location at 661 Route 9 and identified furniture that had been taken.

Police obtained a search warrant and later arrested Charles Wolf. His bail was set at $35,000. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. Denise Wolf was arrested and charged with theft and criminal mischief, the police report states.

If Michael Jackson was still alive, I would leave my children in his care before I left them with this couple.

Wonder why they were evicted. Didn't they pay their rent? Landlord must have had a reason to want them out so they got ticked off and wrecked the place. What a lovely couple!

Checked this day care out for my nephew. It was dirty and there wasn't anyone in the room watching the children as they took their nap. They should have never been able to stay open as long as they did.

bayville mom..... when was the last time you were there because in march of 11 is when the new owners took over?? I bring my son to this daycare/preschool and it is never dirty and when my son was taking his nap and I came in early to pick him up there was a teacher in there with them? you guys need to know the full story before making comments like this! My son loved that place and the teachers I know 3 of them personally and they are wonderful people as well as wonderful parents! He never came home with brusies, cuts, crying or upset and he is able to talk and tell me if anything bad happned!!! NO WHERE does it say a child was harmed in anyway! Just because they took some stuff or there was damage done.. it has nothing to do with the children! this was a good place they dont charge you out the butt to send your child there like most of the other places around here do, and my son has learned a lot from the teachers that are there!

it's possible those were improvements the tenant made to the unit while there. They invested those items in the place for their business. Therefore they felt it was theirs. I can't blame them. If you put something into a unit over and above what was there, you paid for it, it's yours. That's what this sounds like.

Its an unfortunate situation that the previous owners handed to the new couple who was just trying to make a living. The daycare was trash, these people went above and beyond to try and save it and improve it! If the stuff taken was bought and put in by the new owners out if their own pockets then i agree it was theirs to take. If i rent a house and put new furniture and stuff in and get evicted Im taking my stuff so any one talking garbage remember when karma hits you, you must leave your furniture!

that daycare really was crap before the new owners took over. how can they steal stuff they bought? makes no sense. also, how can berkeley police allow that man to just go to the new place and take stuff back? shouldnt the police be in trouble for that? i think so...
