SEND US YOUR PHOTOS: Hurricane Sandy
If you're safe, but have photos of the waves, the roads and the impact of the first hurricane to directly hit the Berkeley Township region, please upload them here
BERKELEY - The effects of what could be the biggest story of our lives was captured by photographer Tom McKelvey, who caught these images of a small boat trying to navigate heavy surf off the Shark River Inlet Sunday afternoon.
We are looking for people to provide a service, and inform the readers about the effects of the first hurricane to directly strike the Jersey Shore in recorded history.

If someone needs to be told not to risk their own lives in order to get a few photos, perhaps we should let nature's "thinning of the stupid" just happen.... sometimes the gene pool needs a little cleaning.

Hi Jessica, my name is Jim Colvin. I grew up off of Chesea Ave. (on Shorewwod Dr.) there in Bayville and graduated CRHS in 1976.. It used to be called Berkeley Shores then, but when I visted my mom Claire Kilroy on Shorewood Dr, this past May I saw that the Cheslsea Beach changed its name (Chelsea Civic Beach Assn.) its name to Toms River Shores Beach (something). I do not know how my Mom or Brother (Dan Kilroy- Bayville Ave.- off of Millcreek Rd.) are. But I will e-mail you if you mail me your address - at: jamescolvin76@yahoo.com. I live in Miss. now. May God Bless all involved
