'Rock to Adopt' fundraiser at Popcorn Park Zoo This Weekend

Proceeds to benefit animal adoptions

The Associated Humane Societies and the Popcorn Park Zoo will hold "Rock to Adopt" this weekend to support animal adoption and the nonprofit organization.

“It’s going to be a great festival for everyone, but especially the animals that this fundraiser will help,” said Roseann Trezza, executive director of AHS/Popcorn Park.

Rock to Adopt is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Popcorn Park Zoo at 1 Humane Way, Forked River.

The family event will feature music by local artists, face painting, temporary tattoos and balloon designs. There also will be chair massages and fortune-telling for adults.

Bands scheduled to play on Saturday are: Kayla Bogan, Guitar Mike Gee, Lo Kloza, Stevie Lightning, Axis, Micro Machines, 50 Miles to Frequency and Samii Stocker. Bands slated for Sunday include: Sergeant Peter Jester, Deep Blue, Mojo Manny, Speaker, Samii Stocker and Kokomos.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Admission is $20 per person, $10 for children ages 2 to 10, and includes one-day admission to Popcorn Park, a box of popcorn, and live entertainment. Admission for children under 2 is free.

A VIP wristband also is available for $30, which includes the above amenities, plus VIP seating for the performances and waitress service for food and beverages.

Rock to Adopt is sponsored by Local Shack and all proceeds benefit animal adoption and AHS/Popcorn Park.
