Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Collision With Truck In Bayville
Accident happened on Dorsey Lane at 7:57 p.m., police said
A 48-year-old Bayville man was in critical condition early this morning, after his motorcycle collided with a Dodge Ram truck on Dorsey Drive early Tuesday evening, Patrolman John Houghkirk said.
James McGee, Hancock Avenue, was traveling north on Dorsey Lane across from Central Regional High School when his 2006 Harley Davidson collided with a truck driven by Ralph Blumberg, 22, Dorsey Lane, Houghkirk said.
McGee was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with critical injuries. Blumberg received minor injuries in the collision. McGee was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, said Houghkirk.
No charges have been filed yet, but the investigation is continuing, Houghkirk said.
The Bayville First Aid Squad and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office's F.A.S.T. also responded.
Come back to Berkeley Patch for an update later today.

I love to ride, but not any more. Everyone I know, including family that rides, at one time or another have been hit by the other driver who was at fault. There are too many people on the road today trying to get to work to pay their bills that our government demands! And if you have to ride, you need a very loud Harley to keep people away from you. Believe it or not, your safer riding in the woods...

It's a shame the the truck was pulling out of their own driveway, and the motorcycle had a skid mark of 150ft, and still impacting the driver door in more than 18 inches. I'm glad it was an innocent person, backing out of their own driveway, that is at fault, and not a speeding motorcyclist, doing more than 40mph on a 25mph road. It's a shame what happened to him, but drinking and speeding don't mix.. and when you hit someone else, for being careless, it's not the person(s) fault, that you hit them.

And the suppose innocent drive made a comment to the cop he saw the bikes coming and still pulled out cause he thought he had enough time..... People in cars need to think and sometimes wait a few minutes in this case it could have saved a innocent person jimmy from being in the hospital

I just read the article up top and no where did I see anything about drinking or speed. If the driver of the truck saw the bike comming and still pulled out in front of him that was wrong. if he THOUGHT he had enough time and did not know then he should have waited !!!

Shim,
Are you actually trolling on the Patch? Normally you lowlifes are confined to moron sites like E! or the Klan forum. You know nothing of the facts yet you are assuming like the knuckle-dragging imbecile you are. Grow up.

To people commenting on this post. Please get your facts straight. My thoughts are witg both families. The driver of the truck and the motorcyclist are the only parties who should be addressing any FACTS. Fact is that it was in a residential neighborhood where speed limits are 25 mph. The impact and damage can speak for itself in reference. Both parties of the ACCIDENT should be respected and ALL PERSONAL comments should not be posted on a public website. All parties in this incident are affected and nothing has been released in what actually happened. So please, for all parties included in this ACCIDENT, have respect and keep them in your thoughts.

Also, if you read in the article above, that it does not state anything in regards to alcohol being involved. Also, states that the motorcyclist collidex with the truck. Does not state where the motorcyclist hit impact on the vehicle. Or the amount or if any damage was done to the truck. Does NOT state the truck pulled out in front of the motorcycle. So please do not ASSUME either party is at fault. Keep your ifs, stereotypes, and ignorance to yourself. Have respect, which seems to be long gone in this society.

"And the suppose innocent drive made a comment to the cop he saw the bikes coming and still pulled out cause he thought he had enough time..... People in cars need to think and sometimes wait a few minutes in this case it could have saved a innocent person jimmy from being in the hospital"
There are so many grammatical errors in this statement that it is driving me crazy. Please do me a favor, and learn to type before you visit the internet for trolling.

Can the editor of this article please give us an update on the critically injured man, any CONFIRMED evidence from the police, if alcohol/speeding was involved, so that all parties adding their "two cents" can get their facts straight and leave the stereotype comments, judge Judy laws, and ignorant remarks to themselves.

The reason I care soooo much is because there are lives at stake. Others are commenting on this article with unknown facts and hearsay from their cop "friends" and others who were not involved in the accident. I am just trying to see what happened in MY HOMETOWN. Until the public knows the facts, they should not assume that the motorcyclist was under the influence or the driver of the truck was texting/not looking. You ignorant comments defend the fact that you are PATHETIC. And I did not say anything in reference to you Shim, I was just making a statement saying that no one should accuse anyone of anything until KNOWN TRUE EVIDENCE is revealed.

"FOR YOU, IDIOT", I personally know both families and have been there since day one and know what has been going on. And from the first comment you made on another person's post, you are the bully. You were NOT involved in the accident. And your BULLY TACTICS of stating that you will "meet up" with Fawkes is just another point proving your ignorance and the character you are.

I have proven what? c this person? I don't understand. Did you mean see? I'm confused. And I don't think he was targeting you in any regards. You targeted another person's comment calling them "pathetic" and he was obviously defending against your statement. If you know this situation personally, than I can say I understand your frustration but you attacked me when stating I was a hypocrite when I stated that until evidence is revealed about what happened than no one should say that any party is at fault. And if you seriously would like to "meet up" with me, than we have another issue to address.

What it comes down to is man who is involved in a accident is still in the icu.... I have been there since day one. I have been to the hospital and seen the tube in his throat and all the damages. I was there when he been going thru 6 hours of surgery... One else has... Until any of u seen a friend or love one like this....u should never assume anything... I made a comment about how it does not say anything above about drink or speeding but yet the mother has to say that...so I'm wrong for saying anything
have respect
9:25 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2013
And I understand that he is in the ICU and the impact that it has on everyone. I am going through the same ordeal with both parties. But again, you are stating untrue comments. The mother did not comment on anything in regards to the matter. If you are referring to the person with the same last name, than you need to stop assuming. And that is what I was trying to let everyone know from the get go, STOP ASSUMING. We are all (or should be) praying(keeping in our thoughts for those who are not religious) for the gentleman in ICU and everyone that has been impacted by this accident. Bullying and negativity is not what either party should want out of this article and until the evidence is revealed about the accident, we should not state anything from hearsay.

Read the above comments cause they were left my mrs. Blumberg... If u read my comments after that u will c where I said she had no right to assume he was drinking speeding or being careless.... I'm not assuming anything I have been there and have heard and seeing everything first hand

YOU ARE ASSUMING THAT THE COMMENT LEFT BY THAT PERSON IS THE MOTHER. You STATED "I made a comment about how it does not say anything above about drink or speeding but yet the mother has to say that..."
AGAIN, I stated that you ASSUMED that comment was left by the mother and I know for a fact it was not. Definition of the word FACT:something that actually exists; reality; truth. Something known to exist or to have happened. a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true. So if you want to continue with your obviously biased comments, go right ahead. I have not assumed anything in regards to the above article. I was not a participant in the actual accident and obviously you were not either. Therefore, I will not pass judgement against either parties in regards to texting/speeding/alcohol until FACTS are presented. My thoughts and prayers are with both families as well as with you.

You have no facts on your side yet you accuse the driver of the truck from day one. You've even admitted that you're very close to the bike driver, so you've clearly got a bias as to who is at fault, which calls into question every word that comes out of your mouth in regards to this. As for your above comment, it's exactly the kind of response I'd expect from someone like you. I'm not sure whether or not you're aware of this, but there are things to life other than trolling.

How about an update on the story, like the fact that McGee was charged with a DUI and that it wasn't the driver of the car's fault like the troll Shim has pushed? Shim, you deserve to be sued for libel. And shame on the Patch for being unprofessional in this story, as it has allowed a young man's reputation to be tarnished by stupid readers like Shim without response.
