Howell Man Arrested In Holiday City For Marijuana Possession, Speeding

Incident happened near Westbrook Drive and Mule Road

Police arrested a Howell Township man shortly after midnight on Jan. 17 and charged him with possession of marijuana and speeding, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith said.

Patrolman Al Foca stopped Michael Makofsky, 23, in the area of Westbrook Drive and Mule Road in Holiday City at 12:24 a.m., after he spotted him speeding.

When Foca questioned Makofsky, he noticed the driver "seemed impaired," Smith said.

Foca also found 13 clear, small plastic bags containing a greenish-brown substance in the car, Smith said.

Makofsky was placed under arrest, processed at police headquarters and released, he said.

"Westbrook Drive and Mule Road in Holiday City"

a guy got busted for speeding while high on pot....which at the current time was probably driving better and more aware/responsible that the people who live around there on any given day.
i see it as......
being young ,not from the area and behind the wheel with one drug in his system,
VS
being old and behind the wheel with dementia, bad vision and hearing and 1/4 of a pharmacy's worth of "live longer" pills in the system..

Right?! My mother was nearly killed by an old man that cut her off on the highway, she swerved to go around him and lost control of the truck. She spent 8 days in the hospital and is now in rehab for all her broken bones. All because an old man who didn't even pay attention to his surroundings. Big deal, pot is minor compared to the elderly people who shouldn't be driving anymore.

You guys are right, he probably should have just let him go. In would love to see that article. Berkeley police officer lets a speeder go while he is driving high as a kite......I'd love to see the comments on that one. He would get praise? Way to go officer Foca, you let the little fish go so you could free yourself to catch all those old people driving bad at 1am in holiday city!!!! You people are a joke. Especially the ones who I know for a fact are complete hypocrites!! AO.
