Get Fired Up at Hibachi in Toms River

It's a fun night out at many local restaurants offering the popular Japanese style of cooking

 

Sizzling sounds, scrumptious smells, flames two feet high and, oh yes … food!  It’s dinner and a show all in one. It’s hibachi time around town.There's more than one hibachi restaurant in Toms River. You can choose a place with the feel of downtown Tokyo or one of Japanese zen.

Here's our rundown of just a few of many places to find hibachi in Toms River, explaining what's on the menu and more.

Shogun at Bey Lea – North Bay Ave.

This is a party atmosphere and the only non-franchise hibachi restaurant in Toms River with a full service bar. Strobe lights and music fill the room. Definitely a place to gather with the group. Hibachi dinners range from a $15 vegetable dinner to $36 for a seafood deluxe dinner. All hibachi dinners include soup, salad, shrimp, noodles, rice and ice cream. Kids hibachi menu is also available.

Hana Japanese Restaurant - Route 166

As with most of the Japanese restaurants in Toms River, it is B.Y.O.B (so grab your favorite bottle of vino) and cozy. The lunch menu options range from vegetables for $8.95 to shrimp for $10.95.  The hibachi dinners range from vegetables for $13.95 to lobster for $27.95. Included in the hibachi is:  Shrimp appetizers (dinner only), soup, white rice, noodles, vegetables and ice cream.

UMI Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse — Fischer Boulevard

This dimly lit restaurant, somewhat hidden in the Bellcrest Plaza shopping center, holds up to the rest of the yummy hibachi restaurants on our list. Again, this is a B.Y.O.B and small, so your group can take over an entire table. Lunches range from $7.95 – $9.95 with a combo priced at $10.95. The dinner hibachi menu gives you three options:  Single item hibachi dinners that range from $14.95 for vegetables to $28.95 for lobster, or combo dinners that range from $20.95 for chicken and shrimp to $29.95 for lobster, shrimp and scallop, the third option is a hibachi combo for two that ranges from $42.95 for chicken, steak and shrimp to $42.95 for lobster, filet mignon and shrimp.  All hibachi dinners include:  Shrimp appetizer (dinner only), vegetables, rice and noodles. Children's menu also available.

Tokyo Hibachi & Sushi Restaurant - Route 37 West

Another cozy gem that is hidden inside a strip mall, this time near Mule Road.  Bring a six-pack or a bottle of wine and cozy up to a hibachi table with a few friends. The hibachi menu is priced comparatively to most of the local hibachi restaurants. Dinners range from $14.95 for vegetables to lobster for $27.95.  All dinners include soup, salad, vegetables, rice and noodles. Reservations are recommended for all of the above restaurants.  These eateries also offer a full sushi and dinner menu.
