Berkeley Board Ed Hires Interim Superintendent To Replace Outgoing Vicari

May 24 school board meeting was Vicari's last as superintendent

Former Monmouth County Schools Superintendent Carole K. Morris will be at the helm of the Berkeley Township school district when Joseph H. Vicari leaves on July 1.

Berkeley Board of Education members voted to appoint Morris, after a closed session at the May 25 board meeting.

Morris will be paid $500 a day when she takes over on July 1.

That's $130k for Morris or $18,500 for Vicari or $0 for Parlapainides. Hmmm....Tough decision.

WOW......I really hope that everyone in Berkeley remembers this on Election day... ALL of the Berkeley board members that approved this should loose their seat... REALLY!!!!!!! Nothing against this person...But when you have a Very qualitfied Person that has a vested interest in this town and is willing to do the job, with taking a dime for it..... Something is seriously wrong!!!!! But then again, this is the same board that appointed 2 of the members to vacant seats that WE had already NOT voted for... How can someone that looses an election, be appointed to that seat anyway???? Time for another change in Berkeley!!!!!!
