Island Beach State Park: Kayaking, Swimming and More

Daily and weekend fees for New Jersey residents and out-of-state visitors

There is no other place like it in New Jersey and very few places on the North Atlantic coastline.

Island Beach State Park — a 10-mile undeveloped barrier beach between Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean — remains much as it was when Henry Hudson first set sight on it from his ship the Half Moon back in 1609.

The 3,003-acre park has two ocean swimming beaches, surfishing, hiking, kayaking on Barnegat Bay and the nearby Sedge Islands and much more.
