Grand juries hand up indictments

A Bayville man is accused of snatching women's purses and stealing the contents.

Christopher L. Wells was indicted by an Ocean County grand jury Thursday on two counts of theft and two counts of theft by deception charges.

Police claim Wells stole a purse from a Stafford woman on Nov. 25, then removed a Barclays card and used it to engage in "numerous fraudulent transactions."

He stole another purse from a different Stafford woman on Dec. 13 and used a Bank of America card found within to complete numerous transactions, the indictment states.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Michael J. Goodman of Bayville, Christopher C. Sullivan of Toms River and Joseph A. Roussell of Brick on drug charges.

The trio were arrested Dec. 7 in Brick and accused of possessing oxycodone, the indictment states.

Sullivan also was charged with possession with intent to distribute, as well as distribution of oxycodone in a quantity less than one ounce.

Roussell also was charged with tampering with tampering with physical evidence when they were arrested.

All were released on summonses.
